Kitazawa Seeds--Aka Shiso (Red Shiso)

Kitazawa Seed Co. has been serving growers and home gardeners since 1917. Originally started in San Jose, CA, the company moved to Oakland under the stewardship of Maya Shiroyama. In 2024, Kitazawa Seeds was moved to Salt Lake City where True Leaf Market who continues to provide the highest quality Japanese and Asian vegetable seeds.

Shiso is grown as an annual herb with a distinct flavor often described by people as similar to coriander, mint, basil, or cinnamon. May be grown as a perennial in zones 10-11. It is commonly used in Japanese and other Asian diets.
